  • Body Shopper Comment

In the building where I practice my hobby "paint polishing", there was a stored vehicle with some body damage. The owner of the vehicle called a buddy of his who works in a body shop to look at the damage. I walked over to observe the discussion of possible repair methods. The discussion ventured into detailing. I mentioned I exclusively used Meguiar's products. The body shop guy said. "Meguiar's isn't recommended for use on factory paint". He uses 3M Finesse and that is only thing recommended for use on factory paint.

I know there have been discussions of the attitudes and work practices of body shop workers. And yes I know those discussions may only apply to a few body shop staff, but SERIOUSLY, Meguiar's not recommended on factory paint....!!!

Weird that he would say that. in high school I worked at a body shop and they would have both 3M and a few bottles of Meguiars on the shelf.
