New York City starts suspending subway service at 7pm and bus service at 9pm.

I just hope the hurricane gets much weaker before coming to us.

It was really brutal. I've never seen winds so strong. I lost electricity for four days and I'm very happy to have it restored now.

It's gonna take a long time for everything to go back to normal. There is a lot of damage and unfortunately also casualties took place. Shortage of supplies is seen in many places. Many people still have no fresh water, no electricity, no heat and with night temperature being in 30's it's not easy to deal with.

It's a mess in NY and NJ. I live in Staten Island and we had 20 casualties so far. Coastal areas were destroyed. Minimal damage to my house and property. Working 12 hr shifts since Thursday assisting state and locals with security, enforcement and humanitarian aid.

Lines for gas 1 mile long; food, supplies and housing all in shortage .
Looting, burglaries, robbery and gas syphoning are major issues at the moment. The old adage "Don't know what you got till its gone" couldn't be more apropos.
