  • Brake Changes

I replaced the rear pads and rotors last week. My indie checked the front pads as well and he said they were running thin.

He suggested that I should replace them in the 1-2 weeks. Since I plan to change both rotors and pads, should I wait for noise or malfunction (from brake sensor)?

We moved this to the Break Room - no, not because it's about brakes, but it's also not about Detailing 101 so this is a better spot for this discussion.

As to your question...... don't wait for them to become a problem. If a trusted mechanic thinks the front pads are that close to being shot, and since you plan on replacing both pads and rotors anyway, find a good source for the parts, order them, and install them. Be done with it before something goes awry. They are, after all, your brakes..... kinda important, ya know?

One other point, If your car has the brake pad getting thin dash warning light, you will also need to replace that as well.
