  • Project second chance

Project second chance, Givng myself and the car a second chance at owning a beautiful 62 Bird once again.Total time invested into it is around 30 hours of work in one week, Trying to get it done for midnight mass

Pulling the motor took about 5 hours total time not including the 7 hours the day before for preping it by dismantling the radiator and all the accessories in the motor bay.

My buddy Jon giving me a hand. We had to devise a plan to pull the motor because one head was missing and had one head on it and the intake was just sitting on the block so there were no good mounting points for a chain. We used two 1,000 pound tie down straps wrapped from under the oil pan to the make a loop and attach it to the chain hooks. And it worked.

And the nasty surprise inside, It not seized or cracked so its rebuildable

    Cool project, Alex!
You mentioned the Midnight Mass event. Are you planing on an old-style custom, or just a non-billet build?

Thanks man, it's gettin there, As for the Midnight Mass event, I'm goin for a style my buddies call traditional hot rod. Just nothing over the top, just mainly original but with a big sleeping motor. The paint won't be done this year so I'll drive it buffed out as is to the show. Thats if I make the dead line
