To ChevyNick for tire pressure , most cars have the specs listed on a sticker located in the drivers door jam or on the door.
I'm not trying to be a smartie or anything, but if it sounded like I didn't know where tire PSI info is located, then I must have not been thinking. I know about that sticker. Typically it seems shops tend to want to over inflate my tires.

That's probably not a bad idea. I wonder how much more the tire inflates in the summer while driving? Probably not anything to worry about huh?

Well.. no problems so far (7 years or so), and my tires have worn even. Just seems to firm things up a touch.

I twist all my own wrenches on my car
largely due to the connections and friendships I have made in this industry

I dont think I have ever paid "retail" pricing for parts

In the next couple weeks the rear subframe is going to get dropped and all new rubber in the rear

I do all my own work from oil changes to yanking a complete drivetrain and rebuild it.

You'll get slightly better gas mileage by adding a pound or two of pressure to your tires.

I do my own maintenance on our vehicles. It usually takes longer to do my girlfriends, but when it comes to doing my Cobalt it's done in 15 to 20 minutes. Just because the oil filter is on top of the engine.

I work on all of my cars. I like working on cars. My tool collections are probably equal to small shops' tools. There very few trusteed shops out there.

The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I am a full time mechanic at work so naturally I have the tools and space to do my own work at home.
