  • Pictures from Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2012

The 2012 Barrett-Jackson Auctions are off and running and the place is packed this year! Lots of activity, plenty of cool cars, and a whole lot of really passionate people in attendance.

Here's just a random collection of the eclectic mix of cars on display and up for sale, but first, our booth early this morning as we started setting up for the day.

A little close up detail of the antenna on the passenger side rear quarter panel of the '48 Studebaker seen above.

With this many people in attendance, you need a really big BBQ to feed them all! Look at the wood piled up to feed the fire through the week!

Yours truly is doing 4 DA buffer demos each day, and there are always plenty of people interested in learning how to properly use one.

Doing a live radio interview with Hot Rod Radio, talking a bit about the event and how to prep your car if you're going to sell it at auction.

    More to come tomorrow!

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

This is the hearse that carried the body of President Kennedy from the Dallas where he died to the airport where Air Force One waited to transport his remains back to Washington, DC. Unlike last year's Navy hearse that sold here last year with a lot of controversy as to whether or not it was the actual car that transported the President's remains once it arrived in Washington, there is no dispute as to the authenticity of this car.

          Our booth shortly after sunset.

Another day, another round of pix...........

This General Lee is not your run of the mill clone of the "Dukes of Hazzard" car, it's the actual car seen in the opening credits of the TV show as it jumps over the river. It's the real deal.

That last photo has a surreal quality to it, as must the whole event. My wife was out on interstate yesterday and wondered if some of the speciality carrier trucks passing though Iowa weren't transporting goods to their new homes in the East.

Mr. Meguiar looked good and excited on the Speed Channel.

Thanks Michael for sharing. Time to go shovel some snow....
