  • New Year's Detailing Resolutions - Do you have any??

New Year's Resolutions. Most of us make them (we might not keep them all!!) and they cover a whole range of topics. But this is a detailing forum, so we're curious if any of you have any New Year's Detailing Resolutions?

    Things like........
    • Learn how to machine polish instead of working by hand?
    • Refine your technique with a certain tool or product?
    • Try a new product?
    • Wash your car more than twice in 2012????

So...............? Don't be shy, let's hear 'em!

I resolve to learn the right way to clean my car/toys and to get the tools I need.
I also resolve to document my progress and let you all know how much of a difference this forum has made!

    Cheers!

      2012 Detailing Resolutions:

      1. Master rotary buffer
      2. Get better technique with waterless car washes (Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere will be my tester)

      and .....

      3. Wash & wax my car more than twice in 2012 - just kidding !!!

Since my car is in garage most of the time I am waiting for new products in my local stores like Gold Class Carnauba Plus Quik Wax.

          • Purchase a rotary buffer and learn how to properly use it.
          • Detail more cars. I don't get enough cars to detail.
          • Try to use rinseless washing more. I still don't like doing rinseless because I feel it's unsafe.
          • Try to do a waterless wash at least once. I already don't feel safe about rinseless. What more waterless LOL!
          • Try out most 2012 products, if not all of them!
          • Be more active in MOL!!!
          • Stop spending unnecessarily on detailing products just because they're on sale.

              1) Stick to one basic line of products from one manufacturer.
              2) Get my detailing business started as a part time thing with the thought of growing it in the next 10 years so I can retire early with some dedicated income.

Re: New Year's Detailing Resolutions - Do you have any??

I have a G110v2 and I've only used the UC, UP, and UW with the machine. Although I've had good results, I want to see if other products make it even better. I would love to tinker with using M105/205 and possibly the Microfiber System. We'll see!

Maybe ill try this 2 bucket wash method. I also want to detail more cars... Such as my neighbors cars. I love the before and after feeling and I've only done my truck and a couple vans at work so far with my D/A I bought this past fall.

Ultimately, I would like to be a better interior cleaner, more so with cleaning carpet.
Always searching for the best.... Keep it country!
