  • What is going on?

Is it me or something going on here? There is less and less posting going on here. Come on MEMBERS lets get little more active. I also see lot's of guests on here. There are more guests then Members. Yes I do know lot of them are "BOTS" but what can we do to get more members here and increase activity? I am sure someone here can get creative to increase traffic.
Just my observation in past few months.
There are currently 337 users online. 17 members and 320 guests

I've noticed (and thinking) that also. I won't even try to guess why.

Does it seem that the site is running much slower since the update? That sometimes will slow down 'activity', people just get impatient.

    Just a guess...

      What are "BOTS"?

I have noticed that this forum runs very, very slowly. Often times, it's slow enough to chase me away, and I just head over AG or Autopia to browse.

Any idea if Meg's tech support knows there is a problem with their web site traffic, browsing, page loading speed?

Bots are same as Spiders used by search engines like Google. For example if you google the post here"2012 Product guesses" You will get this info from Google.

Alright so I'm bored here at college on a friday evening. I know, how could I be bored on a friday night in college lol.

This is where they get all the info from the site itself. Google also pays for this service depending on volume of traffic on the site. Hope this makes some sense to you.

I've realized that also. I don't know what's causing it.

I know I'm new here, but (atleast where I live) not many people are interested in taking care of their cars. In my street, only me and one of my neighbors care enough to detail our cars. Everyone else seems to just turn the hose on with a bucket of cheap soap and crappy drying towels.

Once I went out and polished off a buddie's truck. He had very light scratches all over his door, he couldn't believe the results.

On top of MOL, I think many have gone to check out other great detailing forums as well (Autopia.org, etc,).

This is one of the greatest forums and we need to keep it that way.As many stupid questions as I had in the past EVERYONE here treated me with respect and always answered with something that made sense.Maybe it's time to start some contest or something to keep members more active.OK MODS start brainstorming and get this site on top where it belongs. There are some issues with speed of this site or maybe bandwidth? Some of these technical issues need to be resolved. I for one also see that loading up and refreshing is slower than it should be.

I have to agree, this site does load quite slowly.

We can always help you! if you have swirls the best way to remove them use "00" steel wool and follow up with rotary using rubbing compound. LOL

Actually, yep, I get it, and I know what they are, I just haven't heard the term for a while and completely drew a blank...

By the way, in case a Mod ever gets involved in looking up the problems with the speed here, I have noticed my speed is very slow in Safari, and slightly better if I use Firefox or Google Chrome, but none of them are as fast as if I go to AG or Autopia (or pretty much anywhere else on the web).

That's my problem, I've been using "four ought" steel wool!!!

I'm new here and new to concerned car care, but I would think there is an ebb and flow to a forum. Peaks and valleys, all of which you've been through before. Perhaps things are quiet because folks are being tight-lipped about the new products?

Personally, I wonder about "the rest of the story" we sometimes don't get. Like the young man full of questions before doing a bunch of semi tractors. How did it turn out? He was going to make a fist full of dough, did it happen? I like hearing, "the rest of the story".
