I never had confidentiality on my plates and I'm still here and just fine. Nobody ever showed up at my door and I know that where I worked, I stood out like a sore thumb and was pretty easily identifiable.

Part of it is that if they are pulled over for whatever reason, the officer doing so is given a little heads up that there just might be a weapon laying in plain sight and that the person telling them that they are a PO is more than likely telling the truth.

A PO is not exactly the person you want to follow home. They pay more attention than most and will probably KNOW that they are being followed and two, well, they're ARMED and know how to use it!

I didn't block out my plate...if someone really wants to stalk me, there's easier ways.

That said, I'm going to be testing out M#21 on my friends car mid-early-April. I will block out her plate.

I figure if you don't want that little bit of practically unnecessary security for yourself, great. I will give the most security I can while still showing the work I've done for someone who has no say in the situation, though.
