  • Oh the frustration!

    Isn't it typical.
I spend both days over the weekend detailling the Girlfriend's Tiguan by hand.
Hoover, clean and treat the leather inside.
Wash, polish, wax (x 2), wheel wells, tyres, polish and wax the wheels, glass concentrate on the glass.

Looked fantastic, better than when she bought it new 7 months ago.

Wake up this morning, pouring down in Michigan and hasn't stopped.

Oh well, gives me an excuse to do it agian this weekend (because it was fun).

After it stops raining just wash the vehicle with gentle soap, like Gold Class Shampoo & Conditioner or Ultimate Wash & Wax, dry it with Water Magnet and spray with Ultimate Quik Wax. It's gonna look just detailed again.

yea, after it stops raining I would just use UQD....and then UQW ....I find that on my well protected cars, just blasting with a hose....the dirt just washes away

At least you get to check out the beading. Definitely no need to wax it again. A simple wash/dress tires will work.

              Golden,
Funny you should mention the beading.
My girlfriend got home later than I did yesterday.
I couldn't face going into the garage and seeing the car dirty.
I waited until after dinner and then went to have a look.
The car looked like it hadn't left the garage that morning, I was really impressed.

Got to hand it the Meguiars products - They work.

Always nice to have some UW&W for an even quicker wash/touch up.

                  Re: Oh the frustration!

I'll just wash it again at the weekend when I do my own car.

Whilst on this thread and reading a lot of your replies to people Murr1525.
Wanting to purchase the G110V2, is there any way that I will do damage to my paint?
                  Your input is appreciated.

I've seen most of the clips and how to do it etc.
On here and YouTube, but I am just unsure, will I wreck my paint?

Even though this is a little older, and you would have to update the products, (SwirlX instead of #80 for CC paint), this is about the best DVD ever...

I think with the G110v2, you might bump the speed setting back a notch, but not certain.

While it is often stated on various forums that it's impossible to damage your paint with a DA, the truth is anything is possible. But with a DA and just a small dose of common sense, the odds of it happening are slim to none. You almost have to try, or at least ignore everything you've ever read about using a DA, to damage that paint. That or you work on a car with original 40+ year old paint that has been buffed more times than you can count and the paint is crazy thin before you even touch it. But don't let fear of paint damage stop you from taking your detailing skills up a notch (a great big notch).

By the way, I grew up in Rochester, just up the road from you apparently. We always used to blame the rain on whoever washed their car the day before. I'll call my mom and let her know the current weather is your fault.

                              Michael,
                              Thank you for the help.
Its a 7 month old VW, that I've cared for so the paint is in good order.
I'm just curious as to whether I can really mess up if I use the DA.

Rochester is just up the road, but I am a Brit that moved here at the start of the year.
I'm sure your Mom wouldn't be upset with me for too long.
