I know I just came back from yet another break, but I may not be around as much again. Today I just found out that I was accepted in to Paramedic School!! I am very excited, but class starts tomorrow. There was a little bit of an issue between all of the paper pushers. Anyways, for those who do not know, there are a few levels to EMS (Emergency Medical Service) crews.
Levels:
EMT-Basic- Can do some skills, 1 semester class, and give a few medications.
EMT-Intermediate/IV Tech/Advanced- An additional 1 semester class, more skills than a Basic, few more medications, and can start IV(intravenous access to give medications and Normal Saline)
EMT-Paramedic- At least a two semester class, more skills, more medications including pain relieving ones (kind of like a mobile nurse) The class is much more intense, and if you don't maintain a minimum grade throughout the class you are out.
