Here's a little taste of the atmosphere at the Barrett-Jackson Auctions going on this weekend in Orange County, CA.

Meguiar's is there in force with a main display at our big rig and another at the Barrett-Jackson Car Corral where we're doing some seminars throughout the day.

We'll have more to come throughout the weekend.

    That was a crazy weekend!!

We've got more pictures to share now that we've had a chance to sort through them all - enjoy!

All kinds of cars are for sale at the Barrett-Jackson Auctions:

Each day starts out with the Automobilia Auction - old, refurbished, or just interesting automotive related things cross the block:

This Plymouth Prowler Go-Cart sold for $9,000!

We had some cool cars in our Car Corral too:

Here's a few overview shots from high up:

Mike Pennington was on hand for some radio interviews with Hot Rod Live, Rod & Custom, and Motor Trend Radio.

It's a real treat to be able to get right up to the edge of the auction stage as the cars cross the block:

When the sun goes down and things are wrapping up for the night, the place takes on a much different appearance.

If/when I ever get over to the US, I'm definitely going to a BJ Auction!

            Thanks for sharing Mike

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

It was an awesome experience and the atmosphere was like a county fair. The highest selling car was a 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T which sold for $215k. The second highest selling vehicle was a bit of a surprise: a 1963 VW Microbus that sold for $198k.

If anyone is interested in viewing the rest of the cars that were auctioned and seeing what they sold for, visit the Barrett-Jackson website.

haah yah I was sitting watching the autobus sell for 198k. I was suprised it went that high, definately a cool ride to have. Those stainless Delorians were crazy. I always thought they were just silver paint. Had to make sure we wiped with the grain.

Thanks again to Meguiar's to allow me to be part of this special event. Mike Stoops, John, the 2 guys that handle the mobile rig (sorry I forgot the names) Amy and Danielle (thanks for the pizza spot recommendation) and last but not least Bob. We made a great team and knocked out alot of cars. Hope we made it on TV!!!!

                    Hey Mark,

Yep, we did make a good team. I had a great time and enjoyed the opportunity to represent Meguiars.....and we didn't break anything.

We were treated very well by the entire Meguiars team and definitely felt appreciated. Thanks to Danielle for the great dinner conversation and tips on how to handle customers at the auction.

Hope to be back on the team at next years auction!
