Got a new rotary buffer today. It's a Pacific 17" and with a black pad and a little SwirlX it worked great!!



Forgive me, I thought we needed some humor today and no I didn't use any SwirlX, but it did have a black pad!!

Be careful when you put in on the hood. Side panels are a Bitc*.

Like a dummy, I sold mine when we moved a few years ago.

While this could make buffing out large panels like the hood of a Silverado much faster and easier, we'd hate to see the level of holograms that could create in the wrong hands.

This could be a great all around tool. Think about it; too much splatter from compounding the car with it? No worries, you can clean up the whole garage with the same tool. That's pretty efficient.

Oh, wait. There's something else to worry about with this. Burn through is one thing, but on something like the aluminum hood of a Miata, you risk experiencing a new phenomenon: crush through.

I'm glad this brought out the comedians in a few of us. I can see where "crush through" would be a real problem.

Before he bought it, my landlord's building was a car dealership years ago and later a boat store. As the photo shows, the terrazzo floor has been neglected for years. I volunteered to assist him bringing it back to life. Been stripping years of crud and hope to seal it next week so he can start moving some of his collectables to the "show room" floor.

Got my 5" MFDA starter kit in the UPS this week. After finishing up the show room floor, I hope to do one of his cars for front and center of the main window.
