  • 2 AC questions

1.so I had the AC system recovered and recharge the mechanic skipped the step that removes the oil, he said s not necessary. He said that only time the oil is changed is when you buy a new compressor. Should he have done it and when he was done the machine wanted to equalize all hoses he skipped that step to and started the car and put AC on then let me leave, should he have equalized the hoses?

2.when I have my AC on and am at 2000rpms our higher there is a whining noise but only when the AC is on and only from 2000 rpms never under 2000 I could be right under 2000rpms like at 1990 and no noise. Anyone know what it could be and i don't remember if it used to happen before I had the AC system recovered and recharged.

The mechanic is right about the oil I think, most compressors don't have a easy spot to check the oil level. The old York compressors did but you wouldn't have that pump on your car. I don't know about equalizing the hoses but I think that may have more to do with removing the hoses from the car with pressure on them than anything to do with your AC system.
