The DA Microfiber Correction System is part of the Detailer Line and is, technically, in limited distribution much the same way D151 PRC is. Don't expect to see this in typical retail outlets for the foreseeable future, if ever.

Any chance this is to help protect the pro detailers? Just curious. If it's so simple and easy then why limit it? Aren't more sales better?

More sales are always better but you cant sell this system to the average joe looking to get his pride and joy looking great when he has free time on the weekend.

Ask any number of your average detailing freinds what M105 is or what M205 is and listen to the response you get. That will tell you right there they wouldnt have any idea what the two of the above listed products are. Same thing applies to the new D/A System. It would just sit on the shelves as no one would understand what it is or what is purpose is.

They could market it as the professional detailer tool that is easy to learn and use.

I disagree on the sitting on the shelves -- boxes that megs creates are attractive and get eye-time. A little advertising, promos with AAP, places like that and there you go.

Education is fairly critical with this system though, and that's the trick. If you were to use all the techniques you're familiar with when using a DA and foam pads, this system will fail on you. Typical DA process would result in a gross overuse of product, the "average" user wouldn't clean the discs regularly, and they would run into all kinds of problems. Education in typical retail outlets is virtually nil and so distribution is limited to those establishments that deal in our Detailer Line and/or cater to enthusiast users who will take the time to learn and understand the proper process for any product.

                      Re: MF DA system OTC?

I agree with Mr. Stoops- I like to think that I know what I'm doing after detailing for almost 30 years- and I still overused the product on the first pad I tried. It stopped 'cutting' after the first door, and was hard to nap-up. The second pad did the rest of the car. I was using about an M&M's worth of product x 2 on each panel. It's easy once you're used to the quantities, but I could see a one-time user doing 2 doors and after having the pad saturated saying "this isn't removing hardly anything" and tossing it back on the shelf.

I had a hard time getting through my head just how little of the product had to be on the pad in order to receive terrific results.

In the grand scheme, I think that as little of this product I would use , if I run out in the middle of a car, that's got to be my fault.

I understand what he's saying, but I still think that it should be more easily available. I can get anything detailer from megs I want from a local guy I see come to the local car dealerships. I've got a good amount of items from him and plan to grab the kit next week. I also have enough smarts (I think!) to read enough reviews from some very educated people about the use of this system that I think I will be able to get my head around it pretty well.

Have you tried a local paint and body shop supply store? I use to get 90% of my Meguiars product loc ally until I moved.

i could be wrong but i thought i remember reading somewhere that this system was made for factory paint not fresh paint so there really woulod be no need for a paint and body shop store to carry this. even though i checked my local paint store
