  • Ordered new rims-paint question

the rims for my 06 sentra only come in two colors, chrome or silver, i have silver and i ordered silver(not from the dealer they wanted way to much money) the rims are refurbed rims and have new paint on them, did the place use the wrong color on the rims or is it because the car is 5 years old and the colors dont match. the new rims are much brighter silver then the rims on the car which look a little darker silver. i know there is a 30 day curing period for new paint so i know not to wax the rims but i was also wondering if maybe after the 30 days pass the color will change a little and match better?

about letting the paint cure should they be out in the sun? shade? i wont be mounting the rims till the end of the week. since i only got one of the rims i order and didnt get the second one yet because it was still be re finished.

The color shouldn't change while curing now.

Could just be mis-matched, or cleaner paint.

It wouldn't be surprising to see the factory wheels have some very lightly embedded dirt, brake dust, etc in the pores of the paint that is only visible in the sense that it's making the paint look darker. You might want to try using a bit of Ultimate Compound with a foam wax applicator on the old wheels and see if you can brighten them up a bit.

Or the new wheels are just a poor color match.
