  • Live from CES

Well, back in Las Vegas for another show, but this time it isn't actually a car show.....or is it!?

Yes we're prepping cars for Ford once again but the venue this time is the Consumer Electronics Show. Still, there are plenty of cars here, with following all within a stones throw from the Ford booth.

Of course, Ford has the "Official car of CES" - the 2012 Focus.

    And an electric Transit Connect

But the various auto sound companies look to have pulled out all the stops! Check out these custom rides!

We'll close this post with a familiar face - Wraptivo's very own Honda CR-Z

    More to come tomorrow!

Nice photos Mike - thanks for the update.

I really like that grey Porsche 911 GT3 RS - it looks very slick in that photo.

Looking at these photos tempts me to make another trip over to the US later this year to attend SEMA.

Awesome! I like seeing two of my favorite companies (Meguiar's and Ford) are working together!

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

          I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
          Remove swirls my friends.

Ok, the show officially opens in 15 minutes butnthere is already a bunch of foot traffic. A couple of quick touch ups started the day but from here on it's pretty much maintenance mode.

Ever detail half a car before?

Now, plenty of you have done engine details before but how about inside the engine??

Stay tuned, there's plenty more to come!!!

I can definitely say I have never detailed half a car or the inside of an engine! Very cool and looks great!

If that was one of the cars we were maintaining we would have done so. And you know what? We posted that shot just to how long it took someone to comment!

There are custom rides, and then there are custom rides! How about this armored car? Not what you normally see parked out front at Wells Fargo!

Inside the armored car - where do they put the money??

Note the speakers below the gas tank in this bike.

                        Is this a golf cart?

Meanwhile, back at the Ford booth..... That's Ford CEO Alan Mullaly on the right in the group of three, but what do you suppose he's laughing at?

It's a Ken Block Gymkhana video on the big screen!

So Mike, where's the pic of the nuclear reactor to power all the audio equipment in the armored truck or did they use a miniature Arc reactor?

                            Re: Live from CES

Since this the Consumer Electronics Show and not a car show, we thought we'd share some what this show is really about.

3D TV is huge here this year. Panasonic has an enormous booth, with this 3D theater just a small part. Lots of folks in funny glasses.....

.....all looking at this huge display field.

LG's booth is also crazy big....

.....but the glasses are still there!

How about 3D on the go? With a live model no less, or a view yourself in 3D experience.

Canon had a guest photographer/speaker in front of a life size outdoor diarama!

Sharp has one of those gigantic scrolling scenes too. Crazy stuff!

This picture pretty well describes CES - it is just a crush of people.

Plenty of gaming technology to be found.

They say a lot of celebrities attend CES and it's true! Here's one of the Minions from the hit movie Despicable Me

Ford is doing a cool live interview program broadcast to their big screen to introduce all the tech content in their cars.

The heavily customized Wraptivo Honda CR-Z has some nice electronics in the cockpit.....

....and even more cool stuff under the hood.

As always, this level of custom work is a team effort.
