  • Latest Commerical from an auto detailer

The local auto detailer is associated with a used car lot. Not sure of the products that they use, but their technique is awful. The other day, I drove by and they were using a brush on the paint of a vehicle. I've never seen a "pro" do that before.
The best though was today while listening to the radio their commercial came on. They talked about how bad last winter was and that their "Winter Wax" lasts for 6 months. What's bad, is that I know people will believe that.

Thats a shame. I was in a barber shop and a car lot sold a nice old couple a "sealant" that would never have to be reapplied. It was guaranteed to protect against the sun, bugs, and scratches.
The sad part is, sometimes (not always), the dealership believes it themselves because they know very little about proper car care.

I think another reason they do that stuff is so that the paint doesn't last and look as good so the people will come back more often and buy a new one. I think what bothers me the most is that people don't know any better. More people need to inform the general public about the truth in basic automobile care.

I was suckered into this... It is a protection package that includes undercoating, sealant, and rust protections etc.... i picked the interior stain repellant, paint sealant, and undercoating...

The thing is, the fineprint requires you to get the vehicle checked and have the product reapplies every 2 years.. or else all warranties and guarantees are void! . It was my fault as I didn't read into the fine print, and the warranty information.. So technically, you don't have to PAY for re application, but once you pass the 2 year mark you are NOT covered anymore and re application for the protection is no longer free
