This guy has been around for years doing this. Never goes head to head with similar products.

So could one say that was like entering a peach cobbler into an apple pie contest? Whats even more funny is that i thought both sides looked the same even though UD isnt even a polish! Go Megs!
Am i obsessed?? A car is the second biggest financial investment for most people, why not keep it looking better than new?

Yeah there was a thread last year about this guy. I do believe that one got locked down pretty quick!
Let this guy believe what he wants to believe. To each his own.....I guess.

            Re: I find this funny!

It is a bit sad when people post promotional/instructional videos online and they are just full of mistakes and disinformation. About UQD he states "I wanna work the product to give it a fair shot" which simply shows a gross lack of understanding about the product. There is no "working" of UQD - it's a mist and wipe product, plain and simple.

But this is a classic example of why you need to do research, thorough research, when trying to gather information online. The product being promoted in this video may very well be an excellent product, but the creator of the video does himself no favors by putting it up against a product from a different category. Just because both are spray products doesn't mean they are direct competitors. Don't be fooled by disinformation.

Well said, Mike. Individuals involved in marketing many times skew information to have the audience believe that their product is superior, even if it means an indirect comparison, which is shown here.

Along with research, there's a lot of value for trying it yourself - just because it's shown in a video, does not mean it's correct or accurate.

I would have loved for him to compare it against M07.

In this video, the "random spectator" initially said that the "one on the right" looked shinier - Meguiar's ColorX. I still don't see how his products are superior...

I was gonna put this one up too but I thought one was enough, I commented on that video but It said it needed approval and it never showed up. ( no bad language or calling him a fraud). I just said they look the same and he should've compared it to UC

                      Conveniently...

I don't want to bash him because it's simply not necessary. He is selling a product and he has every right to make videos about the competition.

From a "Meguiar's lover" standpoint, I agree with everyone that the products in question should be compared more directly to an equivalent product.

ColorX, just a little consumer cleaner wax, did a very nice job against their "professional grade" rotary applied polish, didn't it? And ColorX is not designed for use with a rotary buffer. Go figure.

But this just reinforces our earlier comments about disinformation on the Internet. We love the "this is the product professionals use" line that so many companies use when hawking their products. Look at the variety of professional detailers here on MOL or over at Autopia and Autogeek - they use all kinds of different product lines from a variety of companies. If someone wants to use Production Car Care's products and they like the results, fine. If they like Menzerna, or Pinnacle, or Optimum, or Zaino, DodoJuice, 3M, AutoGlym...... whatever.... fine. But at least compare apples to apples when comparing products. And if you're searching for new products to try out, make sure the information you're getting is relevant to what you're looking for.

Do you want a new compound? If so, M07 is going to fail miserably - but by no means is M07 a bad product.

Do you want a strong paint cleaner/compound that can quickly remove heavy oxidation when rotary applied? ColorX is the wrong choice since it's a consumer packaged cleaner wax that..... oh.....wait. Gee, if the wrong product in Meguiar's line up did that good in this comparison test, just imagine what the right product would have done!

Guy says - "I hope the Meguiar's Fans can comment on that one "

and yet he has the comments disabled on the video

He wouldn't need to bash on anyone else's products if his were really that good

If he has "professional" products, why doesnt he test it against meg. professional stuff? He's doing everything to not test against equal products.
