    I just bought a new car! (27 pics)

    So a lot of you guys remember awhile back in a thread I posted, that I had sold my Suburban and was looking for a good set of wheels to get me from A to B without eating my wallet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Well, as of 48 hours ago, I sealed the deal on this BEAUTIFUL 2001 Mazda Millenia Premium, one of the rarest Mazdas to still be driving around today. The miles are astronomical for a 2001, as it has 170K on the odometer. However, from the way this car drives, you'd never know it (unless you check the odometer). Paid just shy of $3000 for this baby and she's never gonna see a car wash that isn't done by me!

    She hasn't been detailed yet, but once all the rain up my way, clears up, she'll be going under the lights to see how bad the damage to the paint really is. Somehow already I've got a feeling I've got my work cut out for me on this one! =)

    Nice car! Looks like you have some fun coming your way! However, that body dent makes me cry a little....................

      AWW don't cry! The dent in the left front fender was already there when I bought it. I've been trained in Auto Repairs during HS and I have my ways as to how I'm going to get that dent, at least, most of the way out of there.

            A family friend had a late 90's Millenia. I remember it being a very nice, smooth riding car. I had completely forgotten about it all these years later. You're right, they are pretty rare. I can't even remember the last time I saw one on the road. Nice find.

              Actually there's a couple other tidbits of information that I left out.

              First off, my car actually turns out that it is one of the earliest 2001 Millenias to be produced. The sticker on the inside of the door reads 08/2000. So that means that it was made in 2000 as a 2001. SWEET!

              Secondly, I don't want to bore yall too badly, but just thought that I'd share a tiny bit of Mazda Millenia history and specs just for a little knowledge lesson.

              In 1994, Mazda launched the Millenia into production as part of a group of cars under the car group named Amati. When Amati went belly up due to financial troubles, the Millenia alone was the last car to survive under the Amati name. The car went through a couple of design changes over the years, ending with the version you see here (2001-2002) as the last of the Millenias. In Japan, the Millenia is known as the Eunos 800, and in Europe it's known as the Xedos 9.

              The 2001-2002 Millenias were basically available in 2 packages. First off, you had the Premium. Which included things like power seats, leather, power tilt steering, sunroof, etc. and a 2.5L 24-valve DOHC V6 (KLDE) which produced 170hp and 160 lb/ ft of torque. However, if you were a bit more adventurous and wanted a little bit more for your money, then you stepped up to the Millenia S Premium. Aside from having essentially the same features as the base premium, the S had a sportier edge to it, with a big ace up it's sleeve. To most the S just simply looked like a standard Millenia, until the right foot hits the deck! The engine bay houses the highly technical 2.3L Miller Cycle Supercharged V6. This version belted out 210hp and 210 lb/ ft of torque, enough to propel the car to 60 mph in just under 7 seconds! All in all, the 2001-2002 Mazda Millenia is a luxury mid-size family sedan built to compete in the big names market such as Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes Benz, and it does so with ease!
