  • Old school Pontiacs (and other cool cars)

OK, so I went to a few car shows today with my dad. The first one was a Pontiac show with a bunch of old Pontiacs, the second one was a Mopar show. The other two were just some local car shows. I only took pics at the Pontiac show and a couple at the Mopar show - there just wasn't a lot at the Mopar show or the other two shows that really stood out to me. I just took some pics of the really cool cars. Hope you enjoy, and please don't drool on your keyboard.

    You may start drooling.......................................... now!

    1969(?) Pontiac GTO "Judge"

    1964 GTO

that's a Bonneville on the right hand side

    here's something rare - a show car with a relatively swirl-free finish

Here's the car the previous shot was taken from

    Description of that car:

    a black beauty with a T-top

This GTO was for sale. Anybody interested?

    It's in ready-to-buff condition.

    1926 Pontiac

I thought this was kinda cool

    this can't be good...

    but what is that?

Meguiar's Quik Detailer - good product, wrong tool. You need both the right product and the right tool to do the job correctly.

a beautiful black Firebird - can't remember the year

gotta love that Candy Apple red

I really liked this one - a Pontiac Blackbird

A few pics from the Mopar show

    beautiful 1969 Dodge Charger

1967 Dodge Charger - according to the plaque, it had been in the family since 1968, and the current owner had received it from his grandparents

    1970 Plymouth Road Runner Superbee

Well, that's all I have. Thanks for looking!

So did you correct the owners on their QD applicator of choice? And did you recommend polishing on the swirled out cars?

Great Pictures. I went to the national GTO convention in Dayton, OH and it was a lot of fun and history.

No. Figured I'd better not say anything to avoid trouble.

I did see something that made me want to cringe though (other than all the swirl marks) - a guy and his wife were wiping down a beautiful GTO with bath towels. Ugh! I looked and sure enough, the entire car was covered with swirl marks. It's a shame that so many show car owners don't know how to obtain a show car finish. I wish Meguiar's could have had a booth there to educate people. Most everybody there needed it!

Had I been there I'd have gone to my car and got one of my MF towels out of my emergency kit and gave it to the owner of that black GTO. A swirl free show car is easy to obtain AND keep with the right tools, products and procedures.

Nice pictures Shane. Not to criticize, but the Roadrunner is a Superbird not a Super Bee. The Super bee was a Dodge.
