  • Not a good start to the morning

My morning was along the same lines as Clearly Coated's was a little while ago. I hopped onto the highway on my way to drop my kids off at daycare as a garbage truck goes past and merges in front of me. No big deal usually excepted it's leaking God-knows-what all over the road. I back off a bit more but when I get to the daycare I notice I got sprayed a bit. So after dropping off the boys and in my pursuit of perfection (lol) I stop at the car wash and use the "final spot free rinse" to give the car a quick spray down. I don't like coin-ops but it was better than letting whatever biological nastiness that was from sitting on the car. Needless to say I was late to work. Explain that to the boss, huh? Ah, what a wonderful way to start a Monday. Hope everyone else's has started out better than mine!

Oh, and on a related note, the spot free rinse setting doesn't strip wax does it? I never am sure at those places...

I assume you are equally as passionate about your job, so I'm sure the boss does mind you being late once in a while ;-)

Regarding the wax. The spot free rinse may have reduced the amount of wax on you paint, especially if you were getting a little closer to the paint in an effort to remove who knows what.

I suggest you give your vehicle a good hand wash asap. I'd then follow up with a fresh coat of wax.

Good luck Garage Troll. Hopefully it's all gone.

I don't think the spot free rince wash wax away...as far as i know it's filtered water

Yeah, it was that light spray. I tried it first as I wanted to avoid spotting. Whatever it was was liquid and it was just on the front. I just slid away with the rinse. I hope to wash it before the weekend but that may not happen with work and kids. Thankfully the car is in an underground garage all day and I usually don't have to worry about bird poopy and the likes. Sigh, I wish I could detail cars all day long. It would be so much more fulfilling...

Haha! So that's what you meant by cement mixer! At least it doesn't sound like you ran into any "hat tricks"

You should be okay. At least you removed the foreign substance.

LOL. Man, I remember reading that post and cringing. Pucker factor 9...make it so.

By the way, thanks again for the G110v2 info. I think one would help me move a bit quicker and get better results. I can't complain about the PC though since my mother in law works for Black & Decker and got it for around $70.

Well Gents, let's hope for a better tomorrow!
