Re: BlackMagic
I dont wanna seem rude but you might get a better reply on blackmagics own website forum (if they have one)... but if youd like a great deep/wet shine I suggest getting some Megs M26 high tech yellow wax! Its my favorite wax at the moment. Thin and uniform applications of wax is your best friend!!!- Markito -

Re: BlackMagic
I would just apply it thin and use the swipe test to see if it is dry before removing.

Re: BlackMagic
The stuff is hard to buff off. I tried letting it dry for a while and going back later and buffing and having a hard time removing and I've also wiped off after each panel and still go the same result.2011 Ford Mustang GT Cali Special

Re: BlackMagic
Meguiars can thank Black Magic for making me a convert. I tried Black Magic after seeing a top rating in Consumer Reports. Found it to be very difficult to remove. I mentioned this to a friend that details for a living and he recommended trying NXT.
After using NXT once and seeing how easy it was to apply and remove (not to mention how great the car looked after), the Black Magic went into the trash can.

How much did you apply? Does the amount make a difference?

Re: BlackMagic
I've had a hard time with it as well. I think it is just the nature of that specific product. Although, I do like the Black Magic tire shine spray (foaming cleaner / shine giver stuff). If you don't like it, give it away...otherwise it will just ruin.NOTE: Post count does not reflect actual detailing knowledge.

Re: BlackMagic
I got a few bottles of the stuff when it was on clearance for $0.01. Anyways I like the product, though it is a little finicky. It requires 2 wipedown almost like how M07 requires multiple wipedowns. The first to remove the bulk of the product and the second with a detail spray to remove the residue it leaves behind. I'll tell you one thing. It gives a deeper, darker, and richer look than NXT 2.0 does on dark colored cars. Try the two side by side and you will be amazed. NXT is still very good though and very easy to use.Alan T.

Re: BlackMagic
Save yourself a lot of anxiety, worry, and bother and get yourself a better and easier protectant. There are lot of OTC protectants you might try: NXT, Gold Class Carnauba Plus, Mother's FX, Mother's Reflections, Duragloss 105, Collinite 845.Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.

Re: BlackMagic
Unfortunately there really isn't technique that makes this product easier to use. At least not to my knowledge. After trying it about 6 times in different manners suggested on Black Magic's website and other reviewing sites I was fed up and chucked the remainder. It wasn't even worth giving away. It's actually made by the Bondo Corp. Strange, huh?
