  • So i ordered hids today....

So i ordered my 55W RAPTOR 8000K hid kit today..the 9007 size was on back order...They said it will take 5-7 days b4 it ships and then 3 days from CA to here in GA..
My question is....Since they are going in halogen housings would it help a lil with glare if i tinted my headlights??
    And has anyone got 55W 8k's...will it be white with a slite tine of blue..the guy @ DDM said a 8K 55w looked like a 6K 35w??>?>

From my experience it will be slightly more blue than 6k 35w, but very little difference nonetheless. I think it is a good choice and will be crazy bright. I wouldn't tint the headlights just yet and wait until you get your hid's installed. Then you will see how the light is focused and glare etc.

ok..sounds great. Have u installed them on ur cars? Is it fairly simple? And im thinking about doing 6k 35W fogs in the future...IS that hard? Would i have 4 ballasts????

I had someone do it for me, but after seeing him play around with it then it started to seem doable. I have them on my dd that originally came with halogen lights and they look awesome. I have 55w 6k in the headlights and 35w 6k in the fogs and yes every hid needs its own ballast per bulb.

Is ur DD the Volvo? And how would u compare it to halogens? Honestly? (like hids are 3 times as bright as stock)?

Yes, and without a doubt they're at least twice as bright.

Putting HIDs in a reflector housing is always a bad thing to do. You end up glaring the car in front of you, making it dangerous for them. If you MUST continue doing it, aim them way low. It will cut down on glare a bit but it will still be there...
