The dealer told my boss he shouldn't wax his 2010 Lexus for a year. Anyone else heard that?

Yes, the sooner the better. In the factory, the car is painted and the paint is cured before all the cloth, plastic, and rubber components are placed in the car, so there is no need for the paint to outgas. Unlike re-paints, in which the paint can't be cured at such high temperatures because all the components are already in the car. Thus the waiting period of 30 - 90 days. Tell your boss he can wax the car whenever he wants, preferably as soon as possible so it is protected.

I just thought it very strange for the dealer to tell someone "don't protect the paint for a year".Comment

The only thing that comes to mind is this. Did He purchase some type of dealer applied sealant? Still a year is a long time. I would definitely give it the plan you described.quality creates its own demandComment
