So i finally found what I THINK is a good hid kit. Its from a place called DDM Tuning. (www.ddmtuning.com) They offer a digital slim 55w kit for around $65 dollars shipped to my door. It also comes with a LIFETIME warrenty. I gonna order it nxt friday I hope this is a good choice...

        55w??
are these for your headlights, or off road lights?

55w seems really bright for your headlights

dont get me wrong, i like bright.
        .bright is good
        bright is great
as you can tell from my avatar

i want to convert them to hid(the off road lights)
but its a lot of $$$$
let us know how they work

55W is the normal, low beam output for halogens and 65W is the high beam. 55W sounds fine?

+1 rousch. I have a 9003 HID kit from DDMtuning. Just the 35W. HIDs are normally 35w so they typically have less power draw which is one of the pros. I like them.

...and I believe the reason you go with a 55W kit is some cars have sensors or something like that which will freak out if they are only 35W?

                    Wattage doesn't determine color..

Here's what the DDM 55W 6000k kit looks like:

Still look a little blue to me.

And I'm sure you've already got your mind made up, but I would urge you to consider a projector retrofit of some sort..

Here's a video that shows why it's bad to have an 'HID kit' in a standard halogen enclosure. I know the video was produced in the UK, but the concept is the same.

                      A picture for reference:

There are some good pics showing how bad HID's in halogen headlamps can be in this thread:

                        +1 to the projectors, again.

Re: Finally found a hid kit...

Yeah the projectors really help with a nice crisp cut off and reduce glaring into other drivers eyes.

Sweet pics! im def gonna get the 55w 6K hids nxt thursday. They are currently outa stock...hopefully they will have em nxt week

                            PROJECTOR PROBLEMS:
It is almost IMPOSSIBLE for me to get projectors..I have a Suzuki SX4..Japan and Signapor offer projector housings for about $1000 USD...I am not willing to spend that much (that would be 1/18 of the cost of the car).
If i were to get the ones from JAPAN i would loose the option for front turn signals...from what ive been told...There is an option of having then coustum made in the US for about $800. They would have to start from scratch and have an engineer design them...
ONE GOOD THING I HAVE READ ABOUT THE SX4 IS THAT WHILE USING HIDS IN THE STOCK HOUSING, IT HAS A PRETTY GOOD CUTOFF LINE compared to some cars...2 ppl have installed them and have has no "drivers flashing them" problems...

Some newer halogen bulb housing units have excellent cutoffs and produce a very straight and focused light. I think the sx4 will be good to go.
