So, here is the deal.
My wife has decided to sell her car (Mazda 3-Sunburst Silver) I am fine with her decision because we have been less than impressed with it.
Anyways, she has her sights set on a Lexus IS 250. Also fine. The issue we are having is that in our region, there are very few that meet her qualifications. (White exterior with black leather, navi, and Birds Eye Maple wood)
She also really likes these cars in black. The Lexus black is pure black (called Obsidian Black) and not Metallic. Here is the problem.
I always told her that she is not allowed to own a black car because of the upkeep and frustration that comes with them. Especially in Arizona.
Well, of course she found the exact one she wants, all parameters met, except that it is black.
My question is this: Should I cave in and get the black one or hold my ground and go for white?
The car, regardless of color will of course be properly maintained. Washed two bucket method, dried with micofibers, regular wax regimen, so on and so forth.
For those who own black or dark colored cars, Do you find yourself constantly inspecting every panel for imperfections, more so than we all already do I should say. I just dont want to lose my mind worrying about if there is a scratch or swirl mark every time we drive it.
We stopped by the dealer this evening after dinner to look the car over. It, to no surprise, has swirls. I looked for any signs of halograms and other such blemishes but did not see any. So I will have my work cut out for me to get it into respectable shape.
Also, the vehicle has the clear protectant film on the hood and front bumper. Is anyone familiar with this ? Can you wax it? I guess I am worried about it discoloring in our intense Arizona sun.
Thanks in advance for the comments.
