  • Wal-Mart doing away with Gold Class Wash

Might want to check your local Wally World, but the one in Murphysboro IL had Gold Class Wash on clearance and in it's place was QWW. To me, it's not a fair trade off. Sure, QWW is great and all, but it's being sold for $9 for 48 oz while GC was 64 oz for $6.50. I guess I'll either be buying NXT Wash from somewhere else or trying out another wash from Wally World.

Each particular Wal-Mart, or any store for that matter, can decide whether to keep a product or not. There's no rule that all Wal-Marts must or must not carry ________. There are Wal-Marts that sell Royal Purple for instance. Mine never has and probably never will. Just saying.

Well, I understand that each store can carry what they want, but it's the timing of my putting it on clearance and putting in UWW in it's place seemed strange. Because I thought it was odd, since back when UWW was first announced it was asked if it would be replacing Gold Class and the answer was no.

Strange. The walmart here has dozens of bottls of DC on their clearance rack but they didn't have a price listed on them yet. GC was still the same price.

My Wal-Mart has NO Gold Class car wash left. It has UWW with $5 rebate. When did this nightmare happen?

Again, it's the stores decision. They figure maybe they will sell more of the "latest and greatest" while not having to carry inventory for two products (costly, especially for a store like WM). If they get a better inventory turnover with the new stuff and make more money off of it, it's a win. I've had my WM pull certain products for a bit and then end up putting them back, say because the replacement product didn't sell as much (big to WM). Just because one Wal-Mart decides not to carry Gold Class anymore doesn't mean that it is in fact being replaced. I think you are just looking at it from the wrong side is all. Gold Class will still be around I'm sure. Just not at that one store is all, maybe even just for now.

I like UW&W better than Gold Class to be honest.

I love NXT and UW&W. NXT is very hard to find anymore but I've been grabbing UW&W left and right to stock up for summer.

GC is my absolute favorite car wash. UWW is more expensive and comes in a smaller container - 48 oz instead of 64 oz. I have no doubt that UWW is an excellent product and I will try it soon enough. Hard to imagine it not being on WM's shelf. Ch-ch-ch-ch changes!

That would be it. As walmart (or any retailer) makes room for new products on the shelves, they have to remove older ones to do so. Out with the old, in with the new as they say.

i was at walmart last night and noticed they had some of the new products for 2010 like the new ultimate wash and wax with a 5 dollar rebate! the new natural and supreme shine both in wipes and spray. lately ive been hititng up a few walmarts cause i noticed the one closest to my house doesnt stock it but the one 10 miles away has all the good stuff, even some auto&^m stuff...

hopefully if they do remove the GC wash they send it over to big lots and they sell to us for dirt cheap! but then i wouldnt be able to satisfy my late night walmart runs cause biglots isnt 24 hr!!!!

Maybe I'm wrong here, but I feel that Gold Class was substantially cheaper than UWW. $10 for a jug of car wash is a little steep IMO.
