[Garage Troll]

So I've been a member for over half a year now and I must say that this is the nicest group of people.

What I was wondering is where everyone is from and what they do for a living. Only if you feel comfortable of course.

My name is Andy and I live in Sinking Spring, Pa. I was born and raised in Larchmont, NY and moved to Allentown, Pa with my parents when I was 11. I'm 27 now and I live with my wife Laurie and my two sons Wyatt (3) and Logan (almost 2). I work for the county government as the protection from abuse clerk for the courts. I do like my job very much but I hate seeing people hurting each other as we unfortunately have a lot of falsely filed orders that are simply filed to be vindictive.

I love to detail and I hope to open my own little part-time detailing business on the side in the next few years. I just need to wait for the economy to pick up a bit...

Hey Andy

Live in KY about 1 hour and 45 minutes from lexington. Been into detailing for the last 10 or 11 years and started detailing on the side since 2004 and mobile detailing as well until around 2008. Worked at a wessternstar dealership detailing and alot of polishing of the fuel tanks and wheels and such. Quit the dealership and started back in the coal industry driving a triple7 rock truck on a stripe job. (man are they a blast to drive!) Job shut down about a couple months ago but will be going back to work in a month or so, Thank God!! My wifes about ready to kill me LOL! Started back into the detailing just recently again and boy have I messed it.

By the way the inside of my rock truck was sure the cleanest and best smelling with the D-line glass cleaner and #40. LOL!!

Anyway I agree these are some pretty good guys and gals and a great forum!

I hear ya Andy, This is one of the most stress/hostility free areas that I've been to on the net!

I'm right down the road from you (as you already know) here in Lancaster, Pa. For those that don't know it's about 1 1/2 hours northeast of Baltimore and 1 to 1 1/2 hours west of Philadelphia depending on how you drive and traffic. We're one of the largest cities in the country without an Interstate (I 76 is 25 minutes north). We're best known for the Amish and Mennonite population but what most don't know is that we are one of the most populated counties in the state (500k +)....you won't find the Amish in my neighborhood!! Ohh yeah we're also the home of the Manheim Auto Auction....the place is beyond huge!! Born and raised here....and I'll probably die here too!
My first job was at Cinnabon. Not very glamorous but it gave me spending money. Right after high school I left for the Army, did basic training at Fort Knox, Ky to become a 19k (M1 series tank crewman). It was there were my hatred for cold weather took root. After that I was stationed at Ft Hood, Texas with the 4th Infantry Division. Did a stint in California and then in Kuwait before coming back home. If I didn't meet my wife I'm sure I'd be living in Austin right now! It was here where I got my nickname Underdogg. Seeing a little guy like me sling tank rounds as well as whatever the tank and the rest of the crew could dish out!
It's been 10 years since then. During that time I worked at TGI Fridays as a cook, and a delivery driver at two pizza joints. I'm also an Army Reservist, re classed as a 88m (truck driver). Did a tour in Iraq (Jan 2004-Apr 2005) as a guntruck crew which sealed my hatred for the cold weather! We pulled convoy escort duty, which was a blast and it brought me down to earth that no matter how bad my life is going, it could be soo much worse and then some. This is were my screen name came about, Underdawg is the new version of my nickname, 736 is the company number of my unit that I went to Iraq with.
Once back home I finally obtained my EMT certification which is what I do now. I've been running ambulance in the heart of Amish country for 2 years now. I also have a beautiful 7 month old daughter that keeps me on my toes!!
As far as detailing, I've always liked a clean shiny car since I can remember. My cleaning product of choice when I was little was windex....hey I was 7 or 8 at the time.....I didn't know better LOL!!
February of last year I found this place and I've been hooked on detailing like never before!! I like to do many things but I think I've found my niche detailing, makes for good exercise and pocket money!!

Holy smokes! I think I just spit out my life story! I hope I didn't put anyone to sleep!

Hi Andy. My name is Tracy. I live in lafayette Indiana. I am a branch manager for a welding supply company. My wife and I also own Autobrite detaling. A small detailing business that we do on the side mainly because I love to detail. I have a daughter who just turned 6 and a son who turned 3 last month. My family and I really enjoy motocross and I love to race. Your observation of the quality of people on here are absolutley correct. everybody here has been very helpful and loves to see other people succeed.

This is a neat thread!

My name is Shane, and I live in Powell, TN. I was born in St. Paul, MN and moved here to Tennessee with my family when I was 5, so I've lived here pretty much all my life. My first job was first a courtesy clerk (nice term for bagger) and then a cashier at Kroger. Right now I have a job washing cars at a Honda dealership. What we do definitely does not measure up to MOL standards, but it's a paycheck. I have more money in detailing stuff at home than we have at the dealership. I'm still driving my first car - a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera SL. I've had that car for almost 5 years, and it has just under 130,000 miles on it and still going strong. Very reliable car. I have a 12 year old coonhound/beagle mix dog named Roscoe who happens to be my avatar photo - he's my little buddy. Had him since he was a puppy. In my spare time I enjoy watching movies, playing on the computer, and detailing. Been into detailing since the first part of 2009 and enjoying it ever since! My haunts are MOL and Autogeek.net. I love learning new stuff, and I hope I never tire of detailing. Love you guys!

This hopefully will grow to a great thread. Fantastic idea Garage Troll!

I think it brings all the members alittle closer then alot of other detailing sites where were just screen names. Knowing alitttle info gives you an ideal about who the person is your trying to help out or what they are doing or are up to also makes people give that little extra to help out a buddy.

Said it once but don't mind repeating myself on this one, Thank You Sean for your service!! you and the other great men of our country that have protected us are greatly appreciated

I just felt a need to interject a little. I will tell you who I am and what I am about, however, I will keep some things to myself. Let's all remember this is an internet forum and an be viewed by members and non-members alike. With all the trouble my friend Tim Lingor is going through with the internet impersonator, I think everyone should watch what they say in a public forum. I don't want to see what is and has happened to Tim happen to anyone, especially on a forum that I care about and take so much pride and responsibility in watching out for you the members here as far as keeping it family friendly. Mark, Mike P., Mike S. and myself take great pride in keeping the forum safe for all eyes to see. I'm not trying to kill this thread and I think we all have a common passion for automobiles and the finishes that they have. We are involved in everything "CARS". Racing, collecting, waxing, polishing, how to and the like. You all know what I am talking about. We are all friends in saying that our passion is what we have in common.

I have been a member of Meguiars online since May 04, 2004, almost since it's inception. My name is Andrew Milczarek and I have been a moderator of the forum that I love looking out for friends that I have something in common with for the last 2 years. We are all friends in our own way.

I just celebrated my 20 year mark with Meguiar's and I am currently the Director of Training and Consumer Relations.

As you can imagine, I love all forms of motor sports and dogs

Hello everyone, my name is Andrew Scruton-Wilson and I work for Meguiar's as a Technical Training Specialist. I have been with the company officially for 7 months (unofficially 1+ years).

I currently live in Chicago, IL, but last year I spent 6 months living in Asia training many of the car crazy people all about car care. Last July, I moved back to the US and I now work in Latin America. For those of you who didn't know this, Meguiar's is sold in 95+ countries around the world. Part of my responsibilities is to train the trainers in Latin America on how to use, market, and sell ect our products overseas. As you can imagine, it can get quite interesting at times.

I started detailing in high school and used whatever I could get my hands on (but never Meguiar's for some reason ). I keep learning more and more on MOL and look forward to meeting more members in other countries.

When I am not working, I love working out, construction projects, and anything that has to do with music.

I saw this and hope others will chime in. Andy thanks for posting this tread. Sean, I want to thank, you and others that are and have served our Country. Before it became somewhat popular saying, I was telling my foster kids freedom is not free.

As for me. My name is Craig I have lived all over the upper midwest currently live in Missouri. I grad from high school in St.Paul MN. and have a bachlors degree in Criminal Justice/ sociology from here in Missouri. I have been married to the most wonderful woman in the world for almost 18 years. I have always liked to keep my cars and truck clean, but after I found this website I have learned more than I could have ever imagined about detailing. I hope to get a small business going this year to help ofset all the layoffs that I have had this past year. Wish Me LUCK!!
