  • Malware attacks Megs' site

I tried to visit the regular Meguiar's site this morning and received a Google warning message that the site "appears to contain malware." It says that one's computer can get infected just by browsing the site.

The Meguiar's webmaster will want to attend to this ASAP.

I've had that happen to me. It's the BuyOurProducts virus. It will make anyone reading the site buy tons of megs products and use them on their vehicles. They won't be able to resist. Trust me... I've tried.

I just tried to go to Meguiars.com and got the following message. It has a link that directs me to Google's safe browsing that others have already posted. I am using Mozilla Firefox.

FWIW, I just hit the meguiars.com site with both Safari and Firefox and no warnings. I am running the latest versions of both browsers and have the security activated. I tried both browsers several times to be sure.

                        Re: Malware attacks Megs' site

It's an issue on Google's side.

Some browser will send the address to Google and have Google check to see if it's safe.

For some reason, Google has added Meguiars.com to its "unsafe list".

Using IE without any Google toolbars or add-ons obviously won't report a problem.
