  • Car Crazy Employment

As some of you know I am 17 and I have recently conned my parents into getting me a car, with one rule, that I pay for some of it Doh! I thought they would forget that part.

Anyway, I was wondering if I could find a job with any of the detailers on this forum. It would be during this coming summer. I live in Orange County, CA. I am a car nut, as you can see from my post number and I love detailing. I would be 18 in July if being underage creates any legal difficulties. I know this is very preliminary and casual, but I was just testing the water. If I have to work, I might as well do something fun.

    Thanks
I sometimes judge people by the cleanliness of their car.

Instead of working for someone else, have you considered starting you're own detailing business?

More than one of our members have turned a part time passion into a money making business and I'm sure everyone here will be willing to help you.

      Employment

Mike is right... Working part time is most likely not going to get you health benefits which you most likely have with your parents. Starting you own business with give you exposure to some life events you won't get other places. Planning, energy and learning how to balance expenses with income. Doesn't have to be big, just a way to make some money...

Do 3 cars a week at 200 that is 2400 a month, a little more than you will get at Starbucks... Plus being able to clean some cuties car has it benefits.

I agree with Mike and Bill.
The best way to learn is start out simple and work your way up. I too am 17 and have been doing detail work on cars for about a year. The thing is to just start out doing simple detailing and work your way up. I to live in Orange County and there are always plenty of people looking to get their cars done. That is if you don't mind polishing Caddy's with 24" rims.
