    Re: More bad news...

At this point, there isn't much I can say that hasn't been said already. I wish you the best of luck Nick! I hope that it turns out for the better in the end for you, gosh knows that's how I get by anymore. Take care of yourself bud. Taking care of yourself is the most important thing.

      Re: More bad news...

Hey Nick, Very sorry to hear the news. My mother had similar problems with her back. It can be very scary and painful at times. It is very unfortunate that something like this could keep you from working your "magic." Good luck with the finances, now sure is a great time isn't it. Make sure before your next surgery you go to the best doctor in the area for what you need. My mother did a lot of searching before she had hers. There are good ones and bad ones as you probably already know. My thoughts and prayers go to you.

      Merry Christmas and good luck
      Matt

That's definitely a tough break, Nick. I know you are a resourceful and hard working guy, you'll be back to full strength in no time. Selling the truck will be tough, but you'll have something to look forward to as well - buying it back! Good luck amigo

Man, this not what I was wanting to read! I wish there was a way I could help take away some of that pain your having to help you out. One thing to remember, everything happens for a reason. We may not know it now and it may not seem like it makes sense but there is a purpose behind everything that happens to us. Let me know if I can ever help you in any way and Ill do the best I can to help you out!

Man Nick, I know words don't always help much but I want you to know that it upsets me that this is happening to you right now, and you will be in my prayers. I hope everything turns out for the best. And remember the old saying, "The night is darkest just before the dawn." Take care, buddy!

                          Re: More bad news...

This is a proverb of the Chinese language that you may have heard before. The Chinese word for "crisis" is composed of elements that signify "danger" and "opportunity."

The idea given earlier for an employee may be the solution. You could still take in clients and make a profit. Of course, if you're a control freak where the buffer is concerned, like I am, this could be a difficult transition. But that's what life is, a series of transitions.

A friend of mine was in a similar situation with his one man auto repair business and had no choice but to hire a tech when he had a slipped disk requiring surgery. He found that with more time to manage the front end of his business he started earning the same income as when he was by himself. The obvious conclusion was to hire a 2nd tech, move into a place with more bays, etc. He did so well that years later he sold the place and retired early.

Just keep making the right choices, get fixed and get strong. You're relatively young, and have the experience to bounce back stronger and wiser. Wish I had more than words......
