  • Who plays Elec. Bass?

Hey guys, the past few years, well like, 5, ive become very interested in playing a bass guitar. I was a trombone player in MS, HS, Jazz, Pep bands etc. for the school so im already familiar with the bass clef, and can read music. Ive seriously considered buying a nice bass guitar and finding somewhere/someone to take lessons from to learn the how-to's. So basically, im here for you guys to tell me what to look for in a guitar, amp, etc etc etc.

    Thanks!

Hey. I´m a semi-proffesional bass player. Play mostly electric bass.
Gear-wise you should find a good adjusted instrument and an ok amp at first.
Fenders are nice, but I´d probably choose an affordable Spector (like the Legend) for starting out due to good playability and easy setup.
You´ll be looking into high end gear in a while if you like your new hobby

Lessons. I´d advice you into checking out some of the beginner stuff on youtube, as well as videos and books.

When it comes down to lessons, i´d look into the community and forum at www.talkbass.com
Great big forum with all you need to know about starting out.
