  • What do you want for Christmas?

Since there are no more holidays between now and Christmas, and it is less than a month away, it's acceptable to post this now.

I'm simply asking for money to put towards a Canon Rebel XSi kit.

We just moved into a new house. The main things I want is the garage to get a storage system and the patio enlarged. Get these 2 things done and we will be happy campers. The garage is driving me nuts.

I want an in-dash navigation for my car. My girlfriend's uncle is a branch manager of some sort for GM, and he might be able to hook me up!

Other than that I'm buying myself a new laptop.

And I want one of those Underamour Coldgear shirts that wraps around your body.

I want a set of kitchen knives and a skillet, maybe a new cutting board too.

Not really asking for much. The family and I are all leaving for Orlando on Christmas day, so that's a good enough gift.

The norm for me-books, movies, games, gift cards. Throwing in a couple brushes and products for detailing, but I have alot of what I need, just want to test some new things.

I just got the Canon Rebel XSi kit w/18-55 IS lens & 55-250 IS lens on sale from B&H Photo for $696, unfortunately that sale is over and I haven't found anything close to it since. You might want to look at the Rebel T1i as it is 15mp instead of 12mp and it will shoot HD video clips. Just a thought.

Xbox 360. It's practically all that's on my list right now.
When I graduate in about 6-7 months, I'll get a $1,000 certificate for snap-on tools. Almost as good as Christmas. I'm thinking 3" DA, 6" DA w/ vacuum, couple hammer and dollies, and maybe some PDR picks.

                  • New !!!! 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6 EF II Lens For Canon
                  • 1GB SD Memory Card
                  • High Speed Secure DigitalCard Reader
                  • Courier CR-225 Medium Digital Camera Carrying Case
                  • Universal Digital Camera Screen Protector
                  • 3 Piece Lens and Camera Cleaning Kit
                  • Floor Standing Monopod
                  • Introduction to your camera on dvd
                  • Memory Card Carrying Case
                  • Vidpro 52" Tripod with 3-Way Quick Release

For $620, I can get this:
                  • Canon EOS Rebel XSi DSLR Digital Camera Body in BLACK
                  • New!!! Zoom W/A-Telephoto EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Image Stabilizer USM AF Lens For Canon
                  • Canon 70-300mm f/4-5.6 EF IS USM Autofocus Lens
                  • 2GB SD Memory Card
                  • High Speed Secure DigitalCard Reader
                  • Vidpro 52" Tripod with 3-Way Quick Release
                  • Courier CR-225 Medium Digital Camera Carrying Case
                  • Universal Digital Camera Screen Protector
                  • 3 Piece Lens and Camera Cleaning Kit
                  • Introduction to your camera on dvd

There are all sorts of kits with different lenses, though they do not say they are Canon lenses; they say "for Canon." If you go to the Canon lens section however, it describes the Canon lenses the same way. My problem is I have absolutely NO idea what any of these lenses do, which would be better to have for what kind of shooting, what the numbers mean, etc., so I do not know which would be best for me to get.

I am replenishing all of my Detailing Supplies. Not sure if some 2010 products will be available, but those would be nice. I am wanting a couple video games too.

All that I could possibly want for Christmas is for all of my family and friends to be happy. I know you will hear people say that from time to time, but thats it. I just want my friends and my family to be happy, and that includes you guys.

Having trouble coming up with a list. Either a gift card to buy another gun, or Left 4 Dead 2. Other than that, I just want to enjoy the time I get with my family, as well as my GF's family.

Go with the kit with the IS (image stabilization) lens. These lens cut down on vibration so you can shoot in lower light situations. 18-55 is wide angle to normal while the 70-300 or 55-250 whichever it was is the telephoto. The 18-55 is good for landscapes, portraits, and close-up, while the telephoto is good for sports and wildlife.
