  • Weight loss challenge

Ok, i don't know about anyone else on here but in the last 2 years I seemed to have picked up an extra 20 pounds. Was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing an MOL weight loss club or challenge? Who knows, maybe we would get lucky and Meguiars could pitch in some prizes for the winners.

      Re: Weight loss challenge

Same sort of thing here - went from 170-175 last summer to 200 3 weeks ago. Sitting at a desk most of the day and 4 hours of commuting a day combined with fast food multiple times a week will do that to you.

I've dropped about 10 pounds in just under 3 weeks just due to a diet change forced by gallbladder surgery. Low fat, high fiber with more whole grains, water, fruit and veggies, cut way back on soda, and haven't had a single piece of fried food in 3 plus weeks. The longer I go without fast food the less I miss it. I've noticed that I'm also eating less calories every day - probably 1600-1800 instead of the empty and fatty 3000+ I was at before surgery. Your body gets used to eating less over a relatively short period of time. I'm still on restricted physical activity / lifting for 2 more weeks so I know the weight loss isn't from exercising. Didn't let that stop me from washing both vehicles in addition to claying, polishing, and waxing my truck this past weekend - interiors are on deck for this weekend.

Goal is to get back to (and maintain) 175 and probably join a gym after the first of the year.

I too have gained a lot of cellulite. Unfortunately, I can't get back into exercising until after christmas since I'm busy every single day until then. I guess for now, I have to just watch what I eat and be very careful during Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas dinners. But man, those pies are so darn good. lol. I'm up for a challenge but not until January.
        i.m. skeptical... of everything.

            Re: Weight loss challenge

I have recently lost 10 pounds and I am losing more. When I was in the Marines my weight was 170. At my heaviest I was 285. I am in the low 270s now.

I will be in the low 200s by summer 2010. How will you recognize me, just be on the look out for a guy that looks like Tarzan with a G110v2 in his hands!

2 years ago when I was still racing and running 5 miles a day i weighed 150. Now since I don't race anymore I have pretty much quit running and have gone up to 170. It is getting miserable.

I have triend endless diets, and the one thing that works for me is 1500-1700 calories a day and going to the gym @ least 4 days a week. Burn more than you eat, simple right? Not so much hahaha. 50lbs so far though

I'd be for it! I gained about 20lbs in the last year or two, most of it is muscle from weight training (hopefully ). But I have got to gained some fat from all the excess food I ate. I'm stronger, but, for the lack of a better term, not as "fit" as before. Tell me your plan and we'll work something out, I'm all for cutting down some extra fat!

For me I can change my diet, run marathons, I have before, workout in a gym and loose a little. If we do do this it will have to be on the honor system. Since we all live in different parts of the world. Maybe Meg's can send the winner one of the new products that just came out! Hey!!! I'm in for that!

I am right there with you. I mostly sit at my desk during the day. You are definitley on the right track as far as your diet goes. 80 % of weight loss should come from your diet.

I don't really have a plan yet. I was hoping that maybe we could all kinda come up with some sort of plan. I was kinda thinking about a 3 month plan with a weigh in once a month to track our progress.

Since winter is pretty much here and I really don't have time to go to a gym anymore I will be using the P90x system. I used to use it all the time and believe me it works very well. It is a very challenging program and the results are phenomenal if you stick with it and eat properly. My goal is to not worry about my weight so much anymore but to get back to about 6-8 % body fat again. Which really should put me back in the 150 - 155 pound range.

                          Re: Weight loss challenge

Well let the contest begin. I'm past due for some weight loss. Went in the service with a 24 in waist and 40yrs later the 44's are getting tight. LOL .It might have something to do with driving all night eating junk food and diet soda and then going to bed only to start all over again the next night. Stepped on the scale this morning and tipped 243 lbs.I guess I'm well overdue to push back from the table. You skinny guys won't have a chance.

Have you already paid for the program? If not I think one of my friends bought it before because he was telling me how tough it was, I can just ask him to tell me what it is and I can let you know.
