  • How do I make an online movie with my pictures?

I have maybe 50 pics of the same angle of the B-25 polish job we did. We marked the floor where we had the tripod but each day pics are a hair off.

I'd like to thread them together like a tame lapse camera does.

Anybody know how to do that?

You can do that in Windows Movie Maker just import the pictures and change the length they are shown, then you can add music, titles, and credits.

          Thanks but.....

Windows Movie Maker 2 is so easy a child could use it--an incredibly patient child born to filmmaker parents who didn't mind restarting this application every few minutes. From the get-go, you get the feeling that this isn't going to be an easy program to like; Microsoft's installer doesn't play nice. It gives the user no input on program location or other options. The plain interface promises simplicity with drag-and-drop storyboard options, though during testing, it was more like drag and freeze. The program typically froze while importing MPG video files. If importing worked, Movie Maker 2 would quit responding when clips were placed on the storyboard. On the rare occasion that our testers made it to the storyboard, the program would freeze when adding one of the numerous effects. There were so many hurdles to creating a short video that no editing seemed preferable to using this software. What's more, uninstalling the program was even more tedious than installing it. It should be no surprise, then, that we can't recommend this freeware for any user.

Joe, you'll either need a "movie maker" type software package or something like Photoshop or JASC Paint Shop Pro where you can make an animated .gif file. Look at the little moving smilies you can post in a thread on MOL - that's an animated .gif file; essentially a series of small images linked together to create motion. Obviously you want to use much larger images, and the theory is the same, but you may end up with one very large final file size.

There are websites that allow you to upload images and they will kick back a finished product, but some of them limit you to only 10 images, or they restrict file size of the input images so you may need to resize your images first. Sites like http://picasion.com/, http://gifup.com/ and http://gickr.com/ offer these at no cost.
