  • Need help with ideas for garage organization...

Guys, I need some help. My garage is lacking organization when it comes to detailing and I need some ideas. Please post pictures of ideas or even your garage setup. Looking for anything from carts, to cabinets, to shelving. Anything will help me.

    Thanks,

    ~M

I installed adjustable shelves in my garage. Keeps items up off the floor. They are on tracks so that I can adjust the height and add more (which I've done). Fairly inexpensive.

That's not a bad idea. Seems simple. Thanks!

            Try some second hand stores.

I have these cabinets and a bunch of storage shelving in my garage and love them. Easy to keep clean and they hold up to repeated use well. They keep me organized and the garage neat looking. Guess I need to put down some tile on the floor next.

On the day after Thanksgiving, Lowe's will have some Black & Decker SpaceRite storage cabinets on sale for $44. I have a couple in my garage and they work pretty well. I'll see if I can get a couple photos tomorrow.

Also, the metal shelving like SHYNEMAN123 (Frank) is really nice. You can usually find it on Craigslist for pretty cheap.

                      Couple more questions for ya:
How much product are you looking to store? Is your garage heated? If not, the cold (providing it gets below 30 where you live) could very easily wipe out your entire collection if it freezes.
NOTE: Post count does not reflect actual detailing knowledge.

                        Marc,

This is what I've had for a few years. They are chrome racks that I purchased at Sam's Club for around $80 a piece. They came with casters or metal feet. Each rack came with 6 shelves (I only use 5) and can be adjusted in 1 inch increments. Each shelf is rated to hold 600 pounds when using the metal feet for a total rack weight of 3600 pounds. Needless to say, it will hold up to whatever you want to store on it. I love being able to roll it around incase I rearrange my garage or just move them to deep clean the garage. I'd love to have custom cabinets installed, just don't have the money. The racks come with transparent grey plastic that fits on each rack so if you have small items, they won't fall through the racks. They also look really good in chrome.

Thank you to everyone for the ideas. I wasn't only looking for storage ideas, but ways that you all have stuff organized on your shelves. By the pictures posted I would say that was accomplished. Thanks again!
