  • Order to arrive 10/28

I'm (im)patiently waiting on my order from Detailed Image:

    Free DI Microfiber Super Gripper - 16" x 16" 1
    Free DI Microfiber Super Gripper - 16" x 16" 1
Optimum (OPT) No Rinse (ONR) - 32 oz 1
    Optimum (OPT) Opti-Seal - 8 oz 1

I've polished my truck and wiped it down with ISA so I'm all ready to apply the Opti-Seal. Bonus is that the order arrives on 10/28 which is by Birthday! It better not be delayed or no presents for me.

        Re: Order to arrive 10/28

Fed Ex dropped it off this morning (they usually don't come that early. Odd, UPS also delivered my other package about 30 minutes after this one. They must have known it was my birthday ).

Anyway... I applied the Opti-Seal to the one side of the truck that I has polished and wiped down with IPA. Of course it went on very easily. I noticed that as I went over those areas to make sure there was good coverage that it felt like I was wiping off dried wax. Not rough, just some resistance. I figured this was some of the chemical that had not dried completely. After 20 minutes or so I brushed my hand of those areas and it was very smooth. Seemed to work very well. I'm using about 2 sprays per body panel. Its hard to know what it too little as it's really hard to see on the paint.

Later today I'll do some informal "testing" on the application and post some info on what I think. I'm planning on going over the sealant with M16. I probably don't need to but with 8 tubs of the stuff, I might as well. Anyone think this is a bad idea? Anyone think it's 100% unnecessary? Anyone think it might add a little protection? Any comments would be appreciated.

I also picked up some Opti No-Rinse. I'll try it as a no rinse over the winter for when the truck is just slightly dirty but I also wanted to try it as an additive to Megs Gold Class Car Wash. I have some Last Touch and saw the recent video on using it in water as No-Rinse but thought I'd try Opti No-Rinse instead. My car will need to washed this weekend so I'll give it a try then.
