in the winter it gets hard to wash the car plus after the winter i like to bring it to a car wash to get the chassis cleaned to get all the salt off, but does the car wash cause swirls or do the rags they use to dry the car with cause swirls, cause i can just tell them not to dry my car. Are there some car washes that cause swirls and some that dont?

Re: Do car washes cause swirls?
Never take your car to a coin-op w/pressure sprayer and large brush, unless you bring your own supplies and want to use their water sprayer. That brush will basically ruin your paint. Don't ever use it. Also, any drive thru car wash will ruin your car. The big noodles and scrubbers scratch your paint. Even touchless car washes will remove any wax/protectant because of the harsh chemicals.
The only way you should wash your car is:
2 Buckets w/Grit Guards
Microfiber Wash Mitt
Meguiars Car Wash (GC, NXT, etc)
Microfiber Drying Towels

Re: Do car washes cause swirls?
I use those LaserWash Touchfree washes during the winter. The one I use does not recycle water. It also has never stripped my sealant. I think it all depends on what chemicals the place uses. I usually try to follow with UQD and then UQW, weather permitting, just to insure that the protection is intact.Jim

Keep going to the touchless that blasts the undercarriage, but make sure that you either spring for the level of wash that includes a waxing or do a followup at home/in the parking lot at the wash to ensure that your paint is still protected. If a tree falls in the forest and there's nobody there to record the event, how can you be certain that there was a tree or even a forest to begin with?
