  • How Wax Works?

Hey guys, I was reading the suggestions forum and I came across the thread about how it would be cool to have a Meguiar's chemist occasionally come on the forum. The author of the thread had a question about wax in particular.

This got me thinking of HowStuffWorks.com. If you guys have never been there, it's a great website that explains how almost everything works and they go into great detail whilst still keeping the language simple for the layman.

What are they lacking? A "How Car Wax Works" article... This is somewhat surprising seeing as they have some pretty off-the-wall articles and car wax is something millions of people use.

So what do we do? How about we all contact them. Go to this page and select "Questions, Comments, or Suggestions about HSW." This is what I wrote; you can copy and paste or write your own:

    HSW:

I belong to an auto detailing forum and it's been coming up lately that many of us want to know exactly how car wax works. I think "How Car Wax Works" would be a great article. In it, both synthetic sealants and carnauba (organic) waxes could be explained. You guys could discuss how the wax both stays on and protects the surface and what makes each wax different. Just an idea!

    Thanks,
    Todd
If you guys have ever been curious about the science behind wax, please do contact them. Even if you already know, getting put on that website would make the information that much more available. I think if enough of us ask, they'll get an article put up about it!

Hope they run with it. Seems like it would be a good show.
