Just need to rant!!!!

So i am on my way home from work today, feeling pretty good because i just picked up 2 more vehicles to do and BAM!!!! Some guy crosses the center line and merges into the side of my truck ( both traveling the same direction). We pull over and get out and he says to " Sorry, i guess i just wasnt paying attention". What the heck!!! Than he says, " This is gonna be expensive! The rim on your truck is prolly worth more than my car." Why can't people just pay attention to what they are doing.

yep! Gonna need a new rim and bumper cover. Hopefully it didnt bend any of the brackets under the bumper.

That nearly happened to me today aswell. A guy with a white fiat 500 crossed into my side of the road while taking a bend. I had to move over onto the verge to avoid a nasty accident.

Sorry your truck got hit,but could have been a lot worse. Head-ons are not nice. At least no one was hurt.

Thanks man. Its just kinda disheartening to look out and see it all banged up. oh well, its just a truck and the damage isnt that bad it just bugs the **** outta me. Could be a good chance for me to test out my buffing skills. lol

If it's just a scuff, have them put the old rim on the spare if the spare is a steel wheel.

I tell you, people will do the stupidest stuff. I was kinda late to meet someone this past weekend so I was doing around 65 on a decent sized 2 lane road(55 speed limit). A car started to pull out pretty much right infront of me and I just thought, nahhh, they wont pull out. About that time they pulled out doing a good 5mph. I had time to lock it up only to realize I wasnt even remotely going to stop in time so I let off the brakes and slid it sideways around them on the wrong side of the road while still around 60. Gathered everything up and got back on my side of the road before any cars got close to hitting me head on. Ive never been that scared before, its not fun going sideways around a car at 60mph in a lifted Jeep. Some crazy people out there. Always assume they are idiots and will try to wreck you.

Sorry to hear about the accident. At least you and your son are alright. It could always be worse. Did the other guy have insurance?

When I went to Purdue, I was always seeing some sort of accident related to people not paying attention. I see it even more now that I'm driving through Chicago every day.

In April, I was in the middle of a 5 car accident on the Edens Expressway on my way to the first day of a new job. The Honda in front of me and I were stopped for traffic. A Comcast Cable van rear-ended another Comcast van sending it into my truck and my truck into the Accord in front of me. A college kid in a Saturn was late to the party and rear-ended the van at the back of the line once we were all stopped.

Between front bumper trim, a new foglight, a new rear bumper taillight and tailgate, and bodywork to the bed, left rear quarter, back of the cab and left rear door from where the bed was shoved forward, there was almost $5k in damage to my truck alone. Both vans and the Saturn were totalled out. Again I was lucky to walk away with no injuries. After that experience, I want as much steel around me as possible in my vehicles.

I would understand if you were driving a small car and he didn't see you, but dang you're driving a pretty darn big car, sigh sorry to hear about that.

thanks guys. Its just a truck and it will be fixed. I am getting very frustrated with his insurance company because they are giving me the run around on the whole deal. he has progressive. I finally called my agent at State Farm and told him what was happening so now hopefully it will get taken care of.

HOOOOOORRRRRAAAAAYYYYYYY !!!!! Finally after fighting with the guys insurance company that hit me for 2.5 days they are finally gonna pony up and fix it. It goes into the shop on monday. I stopped and talked to the body shop (dealer owned) and they said they would even detail it for me. I had to tell them please don't detail it. I have seen and fixed some of their detail jobs before. He than told me they do professional work. I handed him one of my cards and said i know. you guys are one of my best customers. He got a kick out of it.
