I just got back from watching the movie, didn't really get it. Is the main character really Angel or is she Laurie? And why did Michael's doctor think that he can help with Angel was held in that cabin?

QUESTION 1
The main character is Laurie, but her real name is "Angel" but she didn't know that because her adoption parents never told her. She didn't realize she was "Angel" until she read that book and found out she was related to Michael Myers.
QUESTION 2
I think his Dr. thought he could help get Laurie out of the cabin because he used to talk to him and try to help him with his problems so maybe he thought he could get into his head an stop him or maybe he could at least distract him long enough so she could try and get out of there. -
