I don't get some people

I did a quick wash and wax on the local Porsche club presidents car, only to find out she hated the work because I had waxed over the rock chips, which she said took hours and hours to dig out.

What the..??? I don't get it, why would you want to remove the wax from rock chips, of all places.

makes no sense to me, if she wanted to fill the rock chips that had gotten covered by wax with paint later on wouldn't quite make any difference.... guess she must have been in a real bad mood or something...

I think what Ganesa was trying to convey is (and I suspect the same thing):

"The lady was probably planning on having those rock chips repaired in the near future, which would probably require that the wax be removed again."

Nonetheless, she should have forewarned you of her intentions . She shouldn't have asked for a "wash & wax" job and not told you about her plans for the rock chips...

Lame situation, but at least you can learn from it . Gotta ask the customer many questions beforehand, even when the task is relatively simple and straightforward.

I'm sure you did a great job and her car looks alot better. It's ashame that she focused on the small things rather than the over all job you did.

Aero, did the chips end up having the white residue built up in them? I would imagine this is what she was referring to as having to "dig out" the rock chips.

I worked on a Pontiac that had cracking all over the hood. Each one was about 1/2 inch long. There were hundreds of them. After waxing, each crack stood out because of the white residue left in them. There was no way for me to clean out each one and it certainly took away from the detail.

I don't see why washing that area down with Dawn or IPA alcohol and a rewaxing (of only that area) with UQW wouldn't fix the situation. Estimated time spent ~10-15 minutes. That woman needs to stop whining.

Why don't you go back and talk to her. Tell her it has been bothering you and you would like to know what the problem was with getting wax in the paint chips. Or if you have her number you could call her.

Hopefully you'll find out why she got so ticked off and maybe you can smooth things over at the same time.

Never seen M16 so I can't say. It is infinitely better than NXT 2.0.

If you were anywhere near me I would trade you one of my tins for a car panel's worth of the swissvax. You need to pick some up, ADS and ebay both have them for sale for very reasonable prices.

In what way is it better than NXT? Ease of application? Durability? Looks?
