LOLOL...you mean like driving your Chevy to the service center? What's is it that they say..."How much can a Chevy tow? As much as the Ford tow truck in front of it! "

I am just having some fun.... It does not matter what brand, if you get a good vehicle, keep it and drive it. I had a new Dodge truck that was in the shop more than it was on the road. IIRC, it was in the shop for a total of 3 months, though I only owned since new for 13. But I have seen a lot of Chevys and Fords in the shop as well. Like I said, if you have a good one, keep it!

On a serious note, my 1999 Ford has been to the dealer for a problem...only once! Yep, only 1 time in 10 years and that was for a smog type sensor that was acting up; it has been an awesome truck.

Yeah, I'm just having some fun. The old F*rd vs Chevy thing can be amusing at times I'm a Chevy guy at heart, but they all have their problems. Lord knows I've had enough of each brand to supply a small town. I've never been one to keep a vehicle very long

You should live in a family whose father and one brother worked for GM as mechanics! LOLOL Actually what is even funnier is that now my Dad drives Ford, my other brother drives Ford and so do I!

Re: Can you help me name this car?

My dad is all Ford for years and years!

He recently bought a used Dodge Diesel....!!!! A diesel? A Dodge? He's a fanatic of big block Ford pickups for towing his boat and hauling his camper.

He loves the Dodge! Gets great mileage compared to the old 460 Fords.

I'm a Chevy guy because of ease of swapping parts. But like you all said, they each have their problems.

Our Yukon has 140,000+ on the clock and only had one smog part go bad, and a kid inflicted (I suspect) rear passenger window regulator go bad. Thats it, gas and oil changes! Original Tranny too! Change the fluid every year!

Our Transport vans are Fords and they last a long time with cops driving them, a diesel, V-10 4X4 conversion, and a new V8 one. The V-10 has almost 200,000 miles on it and the rear end wore out, it was driven a lot.

Our Neon has 70,000+ on it and not one problem! Changed the spark plugs at 50,000 miles and change oil and filters accordingly!

Fun stuff - Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge!

Thx for all the responses! I just called in 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 XL for my guess for Aug. to an answering machine. You had to be 1st with the right answer to win. Just drove to the store and the Sept issue is not on the free rack, yet. It is hit-or-miss on finding them. If no one wins, they do not give the correct answer, just if someone wins(bummer). The prize is $100 and a $50 gift card to this major local chain of supermarkets. AFTER I win one, I will give the next cash prize I win to a random poster for that car's identity, even wrong guesses, and comments.

              BREAKING NEWS!!!
I continued to look around and googled Ford Galaxie to see the diff vs 500 and 500XL. I found the EXACT image that was used in the newspaper. The sectioned windows and their reflections are the same!

A much clearer pic! The title under says "1962 Ford Galaxie"
              It is in dearbornclassics.com

Re: Can you help me name this car?

Still have not won anything! Here is the latest car to guess. I thought it was a Camaro, but I can not find a matching photo online. The turn/side markers on the LEADING edge of the fender throws me off. I checked camaro, nova, and olds omega with no luck. The crappy pic is of the newspaper page. There MAY be an "SS" emblem on the rear of the front fender.

I think that is a 1970 Chevy Chevelle.

Thanks cieraSL for the clue. I had to try google images all the way up to 1972 to get the yellow turn signal on the front edge of the fender.

Definitely a Chevelle. My guess is a 1972 Chevelle.

71 had the turn signal also, but it was a little different than the 72. Definitely looks like a 72 to me.

Yeah, I think you're right. That was the only thing throwing me off, was those turn signal lights.
