Brett Favre's latest retirement lasted all of three weeks. The three-time MVP has done an about-face for the second time in as many years and will play for the Vikings this season.
It is just getting sickening hearing all the talk, but this has almost turned into a right of passage every year up north for about the past six or so.
I live in the Twin Cities metro and I got fed up with the local sports talk station when they wouldn't stop talking about it. I'm not a fan of any MN sports teams, or the Packers (I like the Wolves a little) so it does not matter that much to me.

How many of you would not consider coming out of retirement for a $25 million two year contract? Especially if you know that you are a better QB than anyone else at MN.
I don't blame him. I'd do the same thing for that money if I had the same passion for the sport he has demonstrated.
This is a good thing for MN, IMO. This from a Packer fan.
The Lions. Oh, the Lions. Can we talk about wax please?
I don't blame Favre for coming back- if I could make that money, I would too. The whole retire, back, retire, back, not playing anymore! ...back! thing is getting really old though.

At least the Lions have no where to go but up. Plus Kevin Smith is going to be pretty good this year I think.
Speak of football, any of you in fantasy football leagues? I won the two I was in last year in large part to Drew Brees and Mike Turner on both of my teams last year.
Someone (i. e. not me) should start up a Yahoo league or something. Maybe we could even get someone at Meg's to kick a product or two to the winner.

How interesting that he lands a job as a starter in the NFL when last week he was throwing passes to high school kids...I'd take him right now over some of the quarterbacks that teams have pinned the hopes of their franchises on...we've got T.O. now and I'd love to have a QB that can actually sling the ball like Favre to go along with that...

I understand his wanting to stay in the game but I think his peak is slowly going down even though he is still one amazing guy he has lost some of what he used to be. Maybe he should look into being a quarterback coach or help someway on the sidelines instead of being on the field.
I would hate to see him end up like Aikman did getting concussion every other game.
