  • did a little shopping today

So, I went out shopping today to see what places I hadn't been to before might have some Meguiar's products I hadn't used before. First I went to a place called Performance Products that sells mostly performance parts. They had a lot of 3M detailing products, even more than NAPA. They actually had a good selection of Mother's products as well. They didn't have much Meguiar's products in their selection, at least nothing that couldn't be found elsewhere, but they did have M34, the professional Mild Detailing Clay and the Aggressive Detailing clay. The clays were $24.95 each. I went ahead and picked up M34 to try it out. Then I went to Pep Boys. Nothing special there either. Just consumer stuff. The only things I found that I hadn't seen elsewhere were NXT car wash in the 64 oz. jugs and Meguiar's Exterior Trim Detailer (in the aerosol can). I picked up the Trim Detailer, some foam applicator pads (3 in a pack for $3.99), some edgeless microfibers (they seem to be pretty good quality, but we'll see), and some little tree air fresheners. OK, now onto my questions. What all do you use M34 for? Can you use it on windows like you can with M135? And has anybody used the Trim Detailer before? Did you like it, what did you think? Thanks!

I used to use the Exterior Trim Coating on my Silverados wheelwells, I then bought Hyperdressing and never looke back.

I have a gallon of M34, I use it as a clay lube or occasional wipedowns in bewtween coats of wax.

Isn't M34 kind of expensive to be using it as a clay lube?

Is M34 too expensive to be used as a clay lube? Compared to Last Touch, I concur.

I even substitute M34 with Last Touch 1:1 as a pad primer with no adverse effect.

Probably, but I like the way it performs as a clay lube, I like Last Touch as well, but not as much as M34.

I could never use ETC for the wheels wells regularly as it would get quite expensive after a while. If I didn't have HD (or any dilutable dressing), I would use tire foam which spreads out and works well IME..

                Nice purchase

I really like final inspection, especially for final wipedowns. Havent tried any exterior trim coating but im sure it will be great

                  Well, it's a Meguiar's product, so I can't be disappointed, right?

I liked using it for my truck. But for me its better to have a couple gallons of ASD and Hyperdressing on hand.

Another question. Has anybody used any Optimum products (other than ONR)? I was looking at the Optimum products on ADS, and some of those blue bottles are looking awfully familar to me. I'm wondering if I saw them at Performance Products and just didn't realize it. I'm going to have to go back there and check. I was just curious if anybody had used any of their products, what products you had used, and what you thought about it.
