    Post #32, 3rd paragraph. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...th-2009-a.html

In anycase to all, let's not turn this into a Mike Phillips VS. Meguiar's thread. Mike wouldn't want this and Meguiar's certainly doesn't.

      Re: Autogeek

You know I hate quoting people, but in this case I think it is absolutely necessary. And I am quoting myself.

Mike, myself and all of us here wish you the best of luck!

Let me start by saying this. How many of you are only a member of MOL? Personally, I am a member of pretty much every detailing forum out there. Of course my time is spent here because I have a responsibility to MOL and to you the membership.

Mike Phillips is no longer administrator of our forum and Mike Stoops is. Mike Stoops has a great background and is absolutley qualified to be Mike Phillips replacement. Having known them both personally over the years has convinced me of that.

We all learned from Mike. Mark Kleis, MOL moderator, Mike Pennington, Mike Stoops and myself have all learned from Mike. Super Moderator, Tim Lingor, has always been a big part of MOL, and we have all, every single one of us learned from him, and his awesome reviews. (Tim will never steer you wrong) Neither would any one of us.

So in closing I would like to say thank you to Mike Phillips and all the wonderful contributions you have made to MOL. Thank you for entrusting me with the forum you worked so hard on. I am soooooooo glad you are still around checking the forum out and posting.

That being said and I know Mike will agree, this forum is here for you the members!

      Yours truly

        Re: Autogeek

Actually, I see Mike's move to Autogeek to be a financial "Win-Win" for both Meguiar's and Autogeek. Mike Phillips doing TNOG's and Saturday Detailing Classes on the east coast will increase exposure to Meguire's products (Yes, of course, along with other brands). The best part will be that these new users will be taught how to use the products correctly increasing the number of positive experiences.

Don't forget Autogeek also sells Meguiar's products and recently increased their lineup of Meg’s products.

On the west coast Meguiar's still has a couple extremely talented and knowledgeable Mike's left to fill any void left by Mike Phillips.

Like many of us on MOL I was bummed to hear Mike was leaving us, but I am happy to see that Mike Stoops got the Job in his place and I enjoy watching as changes take place on both sides of the country.

No need to speculate. Mike left on good terms, and we will continue to work together, especially since AG is a distributor of our products

LOL. What's a forum without drama? Mike Phillips left for a better opportunity. How many of us have held on to the same job for our entire lives? It's not always about money, sometimes it's for the challenge, sometimes it's just for sake of a change.

I'm sure Meguiars made a substantial counteroffer to keep Mike, but ultimately Mike left for AutoGeek for his own reasons. If AutoGeek becomes AutoMike, we'll know something more was involved...

In the meantime, Mike is our friend and respected colleague who certainly deserves our best wishes in his new venture. MOL and Meguiars itself is extremely fortunate to be so deep in talent with Mike Pennington, Michael Stoops, Mike Kennedy, Brian Hahn, and the rest of the Meguiars team (not to mention Barry Meguiar) that someone of Mike Phillips stature could leave and the MOL community doesn't skip a beat in terms of online content or real world training at the Saturday classes or TNOG's.

Yes, Meguiar's lost a great person but that doesn't mean there isn't room for growth and expansion.

                    Correctamundo.

Meguiar's has been very good to me and only wanted the best for my future. I left on great terms and it's been a win/win deal for everyone.

My new job at Autogeek is incredibly challenging but I love a challenge and now I have an opportunity to work harder than I've ever worked in my life and each day that's what I do. I've been starting early and finishing late and loving it.

The older I get the more important it is to me to only be a part of win/win deals. And the best way to get what you want is to help enough other people to get what they want so I'm all about helping people get what they want. I stole that from Zig Ziglar.

It's after 7:00 pm here at Autogeek and since it's Friday I'm going to call it a day, at least until I get home and get my personal computer turned on. Lots of typing to do behind the scenes.

Mike, we have never met personally. But your "how to wash....." vid on U-Tube led me to a Goggle search and eventually to MEGS. That led me to the "Mindset of a Detailer" and the great community here. Your philosophy comes through your posts and your work and that inspires me to do my best. Thanks.
