  • A 3 year old and a Hummer

Tonight I sitting in O'Charley's having dinner and I happen to be sitting where I could see my car, when a white 2007 Hummer parks next to my car. The rear door on the Hummer flies open and I tell my wife, "I hope that little kid didn't open that door into my car." We watched to see who got out and where they were seated in the restaurant. When we went out the first thing I looked at my door and below is what I saw. I went in and told the owner what had happened. She was very nice and we exchanged insurance info and I am getting it fixed at her expense, but it still hurts. Does Meguiar's make Dent-X? In a couple of pictures it doesn't look to bad, but in the others you cansee that it is creased a little bit.

I know it is only a car, but in 1 1/2 years this is the only scratch it has had on it. I have had people tell me that they cannot believe the finish on my car looks better than some show cars they have seen. Get the dent fixed then I will have something to do to make it look like the rest of the car.

    Oh.

You may want to try to buff that out, and remove the dent using the PDR method.
I don't dislike kids or anything. But the parents really have to teach their kids to be careful.

Dave, go to 14/69 super center and ask to talk to Patrick, he does paintless dent removal. He did my car along with the rest of my families. Tell him Max Fischer sent you and hell hook you up. Unless the dent went to far into the paint...

A dent from a Hummer. What a bummer.

Sickening. At least you were able to catch them and get to the bottom of things. Great job!

Sorry Dude...Happens to us all at sometime or another.

I think the bodyshop can do a good job with that.Once it's done,it'll probably be hard to notice.

I would definitely try the pdr route. Find A good pdr place and you will never know it was there. Good luck with it.

At least the owner was nice enough to agree to fix it for you. I was at a parking lot at the library before, and this lady hit an $80,000 dollar Porsche, and she refused to admit that it's her fault because the Porsche "did not park in the lines".

If PDR does not work and it needs to go into a body shop, you won't be able to tell it was every repaired. They will end up taking off all of the surrounding molding and painting the panel as well as blending the surrounding panels. I'm guessing a repair like that at the body shop is going to run about $500.

This is one reason I park as far away as possible...even on dates, if the girl is too stuck up to walk an additional 30 feet, she isn't for me.

Yeah, that price sounds about right.
Even if money is not an object in this situation, having bodyfiller on your metal body panels just makes your car not the same any more.

                      Trust me.
