I agree Micheal, but is it really neccessary to show every swirl on a car if it is covered in them....A couple of examples is all that's needed.

My preference is short and sweet. No point in taking pics of every panel you do and extremily long paragraphs about every little step you did. When people do this I look at a few before pics and then try to search for the afters and maybe leave a comment.

To me the best is a few before's showing swirls and how dirty and soiled the car is, maybe one or two 50/50 shots, and then the afters since thats what we all drool at anyways

I think Nick, and Joe have some of the best write ups because they dont load them with all kinds of pictures, just it was this bad and look how shiney now (only used these guys cuz they popped into my head first, lots of great guys on here that do write ups, specially you Al )

I might be the first one to disagree, but I love reading informative, detailed and explanatory write ups when they describe a good job done by a good detailer. Kickin Griffin's posts are a good example of this.

Short as It should be. Especially for me. I mainly use my phone and long, picture filled write-ups take almost 5 minutes with wifi.

Well, I enjoy reading about detailing about as much as I enjoy detailing itself, that's why I like detailed and informative write ups.

I think it's a very subjective discussion. I like a post with a good balance between words and photos - the two should complement each other.

For me, "regular" details should have a few before and after photos to illustrate what was achieved and the process followed. I do appreciate more photos in the case of an extreme makeover or an unusual detail (buses, planes, CATs, etc.)

I also agree with Mike Stoops - where possible show your afters in the same lighting conditions as your befores.
