After a long weeks wait, my G110 arrived.....but not without Murphy's Law testing my patience!
Mr Brown dropped the package off at the house just before 2 pm yesterday. I don't get off until 6 as long as there's no late call. Well at 5:35 the late call came in, a woman that was attacked by a dog. Long story short all she suffered was a small scratch and was convinced that seeing the family dr would be the best bet. We ended up not transporting her so I got out of work at 6:20, not too bad.
Now the fun begins!
Earlier in the week our thermostat decided to call it quits. So after work my wife ran out to Lowe's to pick up a new one. To those who don't know pregnant woman + heat = misery for all!!
Now that being said I get home, walk inside and see her sprawled out on the couch. My goodie box sitting in the corner begging to be opened up. I notice the new thermostat is on the wall and it's hot and sticky in the house. "It doesn't work!" The wifey proclaims. You know I really wish she would have waited for me to get home before putting the new one on.
Well to make an even longer story short, we took the new thermostat to Lowes and exchanged it for a different one. Ate and returned home and once again no luck on this one either. At witts end we called it quits and realized it'll be another miserable night.
Finally at 9:45 I got to open my package and check out my new stuff. I'm quite pleased with what I got and couldn't wait to try it out the next day!
Got tapped out for a call within 5 minutes of arriving at work, no problem, I need to wake up anyhow. While we were out the second due rig was sent out on a call, this is the one I was planning on being my guinea pig with what I got. We get back to the station and the driver of the second due rig tells me......"I'm taking the rig to work with me." But of course you are! Well he better be Johnny on the spot if they get a call today or I'll raise cain. So with everyone chit chatting in the crew room I decide to wash my Water Magnet and give the G110 it's first spin.
I put on the backing plate and plug her in. I keep the setting on 1 and I flip the switch........wait for it.......wait for it.......NOTHING! I flip the switch back to off and I try a different plug. Again NOTHING!!! This can not be happening! I think to myself. So I read thru the manuals, can't find anything. I decide to crack open the back and low and behold theres a black wire on the left side that's unhooked. I place it back where it needs to be and secure the back end. Once again I plug it in and I flip the switch........EeEeEeEeEeEeEeEeEeEe.....IT'S ALIVE!!!!
So now here I sit, finished my trip sheet, finished doing taxi rides for the vollies, and waiting for the hood of my rig to cool down. In about a half an hour I'll be whirling away with the G110!!!.....as long as I don't get called out again!
Ohhh yeah and my camara battery is dead so I won't be able to get some decent 50/50's
By the way, what I got from ADS is,
G110 express kit....of corse!
M105 in the 32oz flavor
D140 sampler
Water Magnet
Small detailer brush
